Process Technology


Product heating / gas heating

Conversion, glowing, burning and drying take place at high temperatures.

Heat must be supplied therefore to the product. This heat supply takes place according to kind of the process gently by heated gas, e.g., air, or directly by a heating.
In the first case, a gas and/or air heater is required. Complete systems including control and heating are planned according to the case of use, such as:

- start-up heaters for the start of a chemical process
- compressed-gas heaters
- air heaters with firing for metallurgical processes.

Mineral bulk materials are often heated up by direct firing.
Often the heating-up occurs in a rotary kiln. We develop and design complete solutions.

Thermally treated products must be often cooled down again on ambient temperature. This cooling process is often accelerated by creation of suitable environment conditions.

We design, produce and supply cooling chambers and cooling lines with and without heat recovery.

Waste gas coolers before filter systems as well as gas or exhaust air coolers with concurrent waste heat utilisation also belong to our delivery programme.


Thermal afterburners

Exhaust air from production plants is mostly contaminated by pollutants. For the most part, these pollutants are organic compounds which split themselves thermally and burn at temperatures around 800°C. This kind of the pollutant removal takes place within a "thermal afterburning".

We supply afterburning systems with steel combustion chambers or combustion chambers with fireproof lining.

For economic operation of an afterburning system, special attention must be paid to the waste heat utilisation during designing.

In case of drying systems, the pollutants of which often consist of hydrocarbons, an optimum design of the ancillary heating surfaces of a thermal afterburner makes it possible to operate the dryer exclusively with the waste heat of the afterburner.
